Once you have set a sky lantern free to the sky. It gives hope.

flying lanternYup!!

I’m talking about flying lanterns.. How many of you have lighted a flying lantern and made a wish on it and let the lantern fly??
I have not.. But I really wish that I can do it soon..
Isnt it interesting, lighting a lantern n let it go to fly to make our wish come true..
Obviously it is. How crazy people are on such believes. I do believe in all such things even if its stupid or whatever.

People have the heart to believe in wishes coming true through lighting up a lantern and letting it go to the sky. A hopeful release and a wondrous thing to look at in the sky as if they’re stars shining so brightly. The Sky Lanterns are known as Kongming Lantern in Chinese originated in a few Asian Cultures. These lanterns are airborne and made out of paper. Like hot air balloons, what makes them rise intro the air is the flame that you light before you let it go. As long as the flame is still there, the lantern soars as high and eventually lands back to the ground once its light is out.

It has been said that Sky Lanterns started a hundred years ago during the time when armies used them as signal devices and had been adopted by folks to use in conveying their wishes to the heavens.

In some Asian countries, there are Sky Lantern Festivals and it’s just quite obvious that it becomes crowded with people because of how awesome it may become! There could just be something to look forward to every single day when you have engaged yourself into wishing for something from the Sky Lantern. It’s cute though.

It fascinates the eyes once every single sky lantern takes flight and they make such a beautiful view in the skies with its identical lights scattered. And ya, those who love looking at stars at night are gonna love it..So will I do..

As the lanterns race to the skies, indeed it touches the heart as they take wishes and thoughts with them.

Some say that flying lanterns are the first hot air balloon.. Maybe it will be, because both of it works the same,so it might be true..

The Origins of Sky Lanterns

Today, lantern festivals are part of many cultural ceremonies throughout Asia, ranging from China to Taiwan to Thailand. The dazzling tradition also has a long history in South America, particularly in Brazil and Mexico thanks to 16th century explorers from Portugal, who likely adopted the custom after traveling through China.

One source notes that sky lanterns first floated over China during New Year’s celebrations in the 3rd century B.C., but Chinese military hero Zhuge Liang is generally crediting with creating the flying lights. During the Three Kingdoms Era, sky lanterns were strategically used on the battlefield as an efficient means of communication.

After peace settled throughout the land, everyone from peasants to royalty began using the rice paper lanterns to thank the gods for their blessings, to cast away their fears and to declare their hopes for a prosperous future. Traditionally, sky lanterns are cast with written wishes attached, ranging from prayers for a good harvest to blessings for a happy marriage to requests for relief from life’s worries. In Thailand, green lanterns are lit for personal growth while purple lanterns carry dreams of opportunity to the heavens.

It is believed that the longer and higher the lanterns float, the more likely the deities will receive your requests. The sky lantern ceremony has come to represent the releasing of one’s deepest fears and desires. It is a symbolic cleansing, a letting go of everything that troubles you. It also the beginning of a new, enlightened you, with the light illuminating the path of knowledge and righteousness.
Anyway friends, never miss a chance to light a flying lantern and make a wish..
